Concrete Block, also known as CMU, are an integral part of most commercial buildings, schools and homes in Central New York. Manufactured at our plant in Syracuse, New York since 1926, our standard gray block are manufactured with high quality aggregates and meet or exceed ASTM-C90 for load bearing concrete masonry units. Barnes & Cone, Inc. manufactures standard gray masonry units in a wide variety of shapes and sizes to meet project requirements.
While many technological improvements have been made thru the years that have made it easier to produce and handle block, our high quality control standards have never changed.
Stock CMU are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Normal Weight CMU are our standard mix design for most shapes, but we also produce Light Weight CMU in some of the larger sizes.
A special note regarding basement construction.
Central New York, because of the abundance of masons, has traditionally utilized concrete block in the construction of basements. Our sales team works regularly with builders and home owners.
